JCPenney: Upscale Fashion?

Joe Fresh made its debut at JCPenney this weekend so of course I was one of the first persons in the door Friday! As I was one of only two people shopping in the built-in boutique, there was lots of room for contemplating, planning and making lists. But I didn't buy anything. Don't get me wrong - the stuff was super cute and soooo affordable!

If you need any basics like a crisp white shirt or a thin gauzy one for the beach, Joe Fresh is the spot. Both shirts were only $19 each! Dresses were $24 - $39. Super cute shorts were $39. I loved it all and the prices were right. The quality was so much better than Forever 21 or Target. I simply didn't buy anything because I didn't need anything.  At the moment, that is. I WILL BE BACK!

I also wanted to mention the other boutique brands JCPenney has incorporated into their line-up. I've already mentioned MNG by Mango. Headquartered in Barcelona, Spain, Mango is an internationally famous multinational company which designs, manufactures and markets women’s and men’s clothing and accessories. It has the biggest design center in Europe and it's styles are specific to the modern, urban woman and man.

Another famous brand harbored by JCPenney is BISOU BISOU by Michele Bohbot.  French slang for “a little kiss”, BISOU BISOU brings Parisian street fashion with a modern style to American women through JCPENNEY.

Born in London into an artistic family and raised in New York, Charlotte Ronson followed the tradition by developing her own unique style at an early age. Known for her impeccable style and trendsetting designs, Ronson’s clothing and accessories have quickly become a favorite among such fashion forward celebrities, models and influencers including Blake Lively, Kirsten Dunst, Nicole Richie, Rihanna, Diane Kruger, Leighton Meester, and Kate Moss. Her contemporary sportswear line, I [Heart] Ronson, is exclusive to JCPenney. 

 

nicole by Nicole Miller is yet another brand adopted by the fashionably affordable JCPenney.  Nicole Miller is a fashion designer who blends timeless design with an eclectic modern sensibility. nicole by Nicole Miller offers fun, fabulous, easy-to-wear pieces that are desired by the modern woman with a multi-faceted lifestyle. The brand reflects Nicole Miller’s interpretation of classic American style with her signature feminine and flirty touches.

Last but not least

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone had a great weekend. As usual, it was too short and losing an hour hasn't helped!

I just wanted to make this one last outfit post to thank our followers for your support. I have decided to take a break from blogging for the time being. It takes a lot of time each day to create my posts, time that I need to devote to growing my husband's construction and remodeling business as well as my decorating. I am going to be his superintendent on smaller jobs so that we don't have to turn them down them down due to a lack of time on his part. It will be a learning curve for me AND his subs, but I welcome the challenge and am confident this is the best decision for my family. 

Donna and I will continue to make posts, just not on a regular basis and not pictures of my "inspiration" outfits. Our focus will continue to be fashion, especially as it relates to Middle Tennessee so please continue to check back regularly.

Black, White and Red all over

We follow several fellow bloggers,  but one is always a stand out.  Wendys Lookbook
This petite powerhouse of fashion has me crushing on every outfit she wears.  As we always say if you can't do an all color outfit, pair a neutral with a color.   What do you think about this Black & White combo with Red? Wendy has taught me to re purpose my wardrobe,  notice the  chain link necklace.

 Predictors of fall 2013 are showing us lots of Red, Red dresses, Red pants, Red shoes..go put some Red in your wardrobe.

OMG. OMG. OMG!!! Joe Fresh is coming to our local JCPenney! You know I have been buying things at our local JCP because of the MNG by Mango line, but with the addition of Joe Fresh, JCP is going to be an even better go-to store. For those of you unfamiliar with the Canadian fashion line, Joe Fresh specializes in simplistic, colorful clothing at an affordable price so this isn't a Target collaboration where you get a much cheaper version of a designer's wares. This will be actual Joe Fresh product. You can't even buy Joe Fresh products on-line so having our local JCP's (Cool Springs & Rivergate) add this line to their product mix is something to celebrate! And on March 15th, I will be celebrating with a little shopping trip to JCP. Won't you join me?

Black Leather Motojacket

One of my absolute favorite trends for fall/winter is the black leather moto jacket. I was unable to buy one at the beginning of the season, because of course, there's this thing called a budget (seriously?). But I've been scouring the sales online and in store until I found a real leather one I could afford. Oh so nice! If you are wondering, it came from ASOS.com. See below for a link. 

And if you haven't figured it out yet, many of the "leather" items in the stores this past season were polyurethane leather or PU for short. This is faux leather at its best. Every piece of leather clothing I've showcased this past season was PU. But you have to admit, the real thing sure is luxurious!

Mrs. Green Shoes

Is it spring yet? Seriously, I am done with winter! One day its 50 degrees, the next it's 33 degrees and snowing. And I am so over sweaters, wool, boots and coats. I want to put on a skirt and sit outside to soak up some sun. I want to don some new spring duds and walk out the door without a coat. I guess this is called spring fever. If only it were hot enough to feel like I had a fever...

It's almost Saturday!
